37 weeks front
37 weeks side
We've made it to the magical 37 week marker! Any babies born before 37 weeks are considered "pre-term" and may have to spend sometime in the NICU due to being born early...BUT we've made it and nothing to worry about, we're going to avoid that NICU as much as we possibly can! I'll be honest, I've been a bit uncomfortable this past week. I won't go into specifics but things are progressing and changing. I mentioned this at our appointment this week and apparently all is 'normal.'
We had our usual three part appointment this week. 1:30 ultra sound, 2:00 stress test, 2:30 appointment with the Dr.
1:30, nothing major to report on the ultra sound. I am going to sound like a brat when I say this but the ultra sounds are not as exciting as they once were. Cami is so big we can't really see anything or make out what we are looking at other than that's her belly, or that's her arm. Even my cyst is so large that can't fit on the screen anymore. I guess in the beginning the ultrasounds were exciting because they were confirmation to us that she was still in there and okay, I now get daily confirmation when I get kicked in the ribs, have random bumps on my belly, feel sudden jerks of hiccups, when trying to sit down and my you know what area hurts.....or when I suddenly get the urge that I am going to pee my pants. lol
2:00, stress test showed 4 contractions in about 30 minutes, but nothing major or consistent. No exciting trips to the birthing center for us this time!
2:30, our Dr. was on vacation this week so we saw the Nurse Practitioner that I've had for nearly 8 years who is absolutely wonderful. She did my exam and said my cervix is thinning and about half way there. Once it is all thinned out my water should break and active labor shall begin (WHOOPIE). Cami's head is also VERY low, I think by the photos over the last few weeks you can see that she has dropped. Jason said he can see that she has dropped, and I will confirm that I FEEL she has dropped. The Nurse Practitioner said she would be surprised if I made it to 39 weeks the way things are progressing. My mom said that both my sister and I were born 2 weeks early and arrived around 38 weeks. If genetics plays a part we'll be celebrating next week!
The Nurse Practitioner was surprised to learn that we had not yet been scheduled for my c-section at 39 weeks and said it would need to be scheduled asap once my Dr. returned from vacation on Monday. 39 weeks will be June 14, but we will see when the Dr is available and the operating room....it kind of bums me that this is the one possible way our baby girls birth date will be chosen, BUT, I can still go into active labor before then an then her birth date will not be scheduled.
My mother took me to the movies today to see "What to expect when you're expecting." Had I seen this when I was pregnant earlier on I don't think it would have been as funny. I can fully relate to many of the characters with their personal experiences and roller coaster of emotions throughout their pregnancies.
I am irritable, emotional, uncomfortable and pretty much feeling unpredictable at this point. Watch out world :)

Aww I can't wait to hear the news. Maybe next week :) you are goIng to be such a great mommy and she is already a very loved baby. I can't wait to come home and meet her. Take it easy this week and enjoy every mOment with Jason.
